Bacula 5.0.1 binary rpms for CentOS 5 on

I’ve been using Bacula for a while to do backups and it seems to work quite well. I was looking for pre-built Cent OS 5 x86_64 packages and couldn’t find them. In case you don’t want to build your own mine can be found here.

Hope they are useful to you.

    Hope you’ll build 5.0.2 soon

  2. Hi: I’ll going to use 2 servers for bacula, one for Director and mysql and other for Storage Daemon, in your repository you have: bacula-client, bacula-libs, bacula-mysql, bacula-updatedb Which rpm’s will install on Director and which on Storage Daemon? Thanks!

    Hi Estela. Note that there are also newer 5.0.3 binaries on my site. If you want to see which files are included in an rpm file use the command rpm -qlp filename.rpm. You can do that with each of my rpm files to see the answer and then choose the package you need.

    I’ve just checked what I’m running and see:

    $ ps auwx | grep bacula
    bacula 3307 0.1 0.0 152736 1792 ? Ssl Jan29 43:54 /usr/sbin/bacula-sd -u bacula -g disk -c /etc/bacula/bacula-sd.conf
    root 3391 2.0 0.0 223204 2624 ? Ssl Jan29 600:52 /usr/sbin/bacula-fd -u root -g bacula -c /etc/bacula/bacula-fd.conf
    bacula 9692 0.0 0.0 249304 2696 ? Ssl Jan31 2:23 /usr/sbin/bacula-dir -u bacula -g bacula -c /etc/bacula/bacula-dir.conf
    $ rpm -qf /usr/sbin/bacula-sd
    $ rpm -qf /usr/sbin/bacula-fd
    $ rpm -qf /usr/sbin/bacula-dir

    This shows which package is contains which file. Note the actual filenames of the packages are named with the .x86_64.rpm extension.

    Hope this helps.

    You, sir, are a life saver.

    I wouldn’t have thought it’d be so hard to install Bacula on CentOS5.
